MY CREATIVE PROCESS

1. YOUR BRAND CONSULTATION/QUESTIONNAIRE
Before I can start work on your project it is vital that I become familiar with you and your brand. One of my passions is getting to the heart of your business/brand’s personality and style. We also both need to be absolutely clear that you understand what is involved in the process and what you can expect to receive as an end result. I need to make sure I meet all your requirements and that I create something truly unique to you.

In order to do this I require you to complete a briefing questionnaire. This will ask detailed questions about your requirements and is aimed at getting you to think about what you want for your business/brand. This can be done over email but if possible I prefer to meet you in person and complete this together as it helps me get to know you and you can ask any questions you may have.

2. INSPIRATION BOARDS
Once you have completed your questionnaire and I am happy that I understand what you are looking for, I will create one or more inspirations boards which will show a suggested look and feel for your brand. For example font styles, colours, pattern and tone of voice. These will be shared and discussed with you before I start on any actual design work. It is important we are on the same page at every stage of the process and will ensure you get the result you are hoping for.

3. DESIGN CONCEPTS
After you have seen and agreed to my inspiration boards I will start design concepts for your logo. This is the stage of the job which really requires some thought and careful crafting, looking at fonts and letterforms and how they sit together and how to create a personality with them. It might include an icon or symbol which also requires a great deal of crafting to make it yours. I will create a minimum of 2-3 concepts (depending on your chosen package) for you to choose from.

I usually work in black and white at this stage as it’s important to get the logo right before you become distracted by colours, and also your logo may need to work in black and white in some situations. Colour is easily applied later on.

4. DEVELOPMENT OF YOUR CHOSEN LOGO CONCEPT
When you have chosen your logo I will then develop it as per your feedback. 2 rounds of these revisions are included in your package. I will also introduce a colour palette at this stage (based on the inspiration boards we created earlier) and apply it to your logo.

5. SUPPLY OF LOGO FILES
Once I have received your payment, I will supply you with various file formats of your logo for use in print and on screen/online.

6. MINI BRAND STYLE GUIDE
You may have chosen to include a mini style guide for your brand in your package. This will include versions of the logo and its usage, minimum sizes etc, fonts, colour palette (including Pantone references, CMYK and RGB colour breakdowns) and additional icons or patterns and suggestions for branding use. A style guide is a great way to ensure consistency across all your brand communications.

PAYMENT: All jobs will require a 25% deposit before work begins. This will secure your job booking. Payment will be required before any files are released.
